Anal Cancer, Sex and HPV - Vaccine?

I was e-mailed through my form the other day by a doctor running a medical site. Amongst his links was "Anal Cancer on the Rise." Having not dealt withanal cancersince I left General Surgery a decade ago, I read it. It reminded me that anal cancer has been associated with human papillomavirus virus (HPV). This is the same virus that is considered a sexually transmitted disease (STD) and for which the new vaccine for cervical cancer was devised.



I wonder if single sexually active women just got a new reason to consider that vaccine. And you gotta wonder how the drug company is going to advertise that one!
