My daughter and I just came back from the dermatologist this afternoon.
She has a spot above her left eye that started out as a small red we thought pimple or blackhead.
It has now grown in size after 1 week and the small red area is now purple.
The dermatologist said the area is 1 cm in size, does not think it is a tumor, but wants us to apply warm compress for 2 weeks to area at least 3-4 times a day and then apply an ointment called mupirocin to area at least 3-4 times daily.
If area increases in size to call immediately.
Of course, I am concerned, she is also complaining of a headache. The area is truly noticeable and when she touches it, she can move it from left to right. The area has grown over the weekend. She looks like she ran into a wall or got hit with a ball.
Do you think we should be concerned and seek another dr. opinion now, or apply heat and ointment for 2 weeks and relax?
