Proceedings were kick started with the Cosmetic Executive Women’s 2009 Achiever Awards (try saying that five times fast) held at the Waldorf-Astoria. Now, I’m not one to be awkward, but ‘Achiever’ is a slightly ambiguous term and for me, could mean anything from hauling one’s ass out of bed in the morning to winning a Nobel Prize (it’s on my ‘to do’ list). Collecting awards were Esi Eggleston Bracey (very long title at Proctor & Gamble), Terry Darland of Christian Dior Parfum, Estée Lauder’s Veronique Gabai-Pinsky and Nicky Kinnaird of Spack NK, all of whom were acknowledged for their longstanding dedication to making the world that little bit more beautiful (and fragrant).
And with that, I’ll leave you with these words of wisdom courtesy of Ms. Eggleston Bracey herself: “Keep rockin’ you’re beautiful.” - verity douglas
