After a low-key week for beauty at the Milan shows, full on drama was back with a vengeance in Paris last week. The focus was on the eyes, with winged liner and smokey shadows used to create an über-glam Parisienne grunge look. False lashes cranked up the glamour as they fluttered down the catwalks at YSL and Miu Miu, giving the doll-like models a high-octane edge. Set to be the beauty must-have for Spring/Summer 2010, it’s time to inject a bit of ‘ooh la la’ into your look with statement lashes that are big, brash and beautiful. Natural is a non-non.
Miu Miu
It was a romantic look at Miu Miu where the girls emulated cherubs with perfect porcelain skin and wide lashes attached to both the top and bottom lids. Created by make up artist Pat McGrath, the look is, “wide-eyed, open and fresh” and the impact of the lashes means little extra make up is required.

Valentino
At Valentino models were both sexy and stylish with tousled hair and strong, graphic eyes. Skin was kept fresh and dewy to create an undone look perfect for partying the night away in an underground Left Bank nightclub.

Yves Saint Laurent
Statement eyes were seen at YSL where make up artist Tom Pecheux created a look that was, “very Saint Laurent, very pure and graphic.” Eyelids were swept with a mix of black pencil and powder, while trimmed lashes were fixed to the bottom lids to create an avant-garde look synonymous with the YSL brand.

Lanvin
At Lanvin Pat McGrath created make up to make the models look like they’d been “dancing all night”. Eyelids were covered in black before some pigment was wiped away and Eight Hour Cream was applied on top. The finished look was feminine and sophisticated with an oh-so-sultry rough edge.
