The weather is beginning to warm up after a very long winter indeed. Here in London I’ve spotted a few burnt noses and chests. Sun burn is not only embarrassing but it can also be painful and uncomfortable. Of course the best thing to do is to avoid sun burn altogether by staying out of the sun and wearing a broad spectrum SPF. If you still manage to get burned though, avoid applying any kind of moisturiser which contains oil, or oil itself. You might think the moisture will soothe the skin but it could actually keep the heat in the skin for later. Instead, try aloe vera, witch hazel or apple cider vinegar. If you’re burn is very bad then you may need to seek medical assistance and advice.
