Sun Protection Advice: Check the UV Index!

Posted Jun 17 2010 12:00am

With the sun shining and the UK hotting up for what is set to be a scorcher of a summer, it’s important to stay ahead of the game when it comes to sun protection.

By checking the UV Index on a daily basis, you can determine the level of risk that the sun poses to your skin, therefore allowing you to choose the best means of sun protection  and manage the risks.

You can check the UV Index here , and then compare it to our chart below.

UVI Exposure Risk
0 – 2 Minimal
3 – 4 Low
5 – 6 Moderate
7 – 8 High
9 – 10 Very High

For all our clinic visitors, we’ll be posting guidance right here on the blog for Leeds, Manchester and Chester.

For more information on UV Index and to see how you can get your own personalised sun protection advice, see the SkinGenesis website.

Leeds: UV Index -> 5 (moderate risk)

Manchester: UV Index -> 5 (moderate risk)

Chester: UV Index -> 6 (moderate risk)
