Review: Surgeon’s Secret One Step Manicure

Posted Jul 07 2008 7:11pm

Long gone are the days when I can steal away some time to grab myself a manicure at the salon. Being a mom of 4, and a working one at that, is completely demanding of any free time I have. While escaping to the salon to have someone pamper me for just an hour sounds like heaven, I also have to put myself back into reality and know that using a product that can give me all of the benefits of salon treatment while at home would be the ideal find.

Surgeon’s Secret One Step Manicureis the perfect spa treatment for your hands. I had the chance to try this product out in Lemon, which immediately reminded me of my favorite candy in the 2nd grade–Lemonheads. It’s a very sweet and sugary scent. You massage a small dollop of Surgeon’s Secret onto your hands and while the directions say to do it for one minute, my hands weren’t really dry enough to warrant that so I opted for 30 seconds. It is pretty rough on your hands, but when you rinse it away you’ll reveal softer than silk skin. The water will bead off your hands, as the beeswax and essential oils will still be sitting on top of your skin, but within a few minutes they absorb with the beeswax creating a moisture barrier.

Some other fabulous ingredients in Surgeon’s Secret–shea butter, cocoa butter, jojoba and sweet almond oil. So not only are you exfoliating to take off that layer of dead skin cells, but you are moisturizing your hands at the same time.

Also available in Vanilla and Sugar Cookie for $15.69 atwww.jamarklabs.com
