New Product Alert: Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex

Whew! That’s quite a mouthful of a product name, isn’t it?
Estée Lauder holds the distinction of being the first beauty company to push the concept of night-time skin repair, launching their original Night Repair serum in 1982, back when Jolie was just a wee babe bouncing around her parents’ living room in diapers. (It would not be until 1983 that I would debut my karaoke skills, serenading my parents and their friends with squeaky renditions of “What a Feeling” by Irene Cara. Oh, yes. I began my karaoke domination at a tender age.)
Lauder’s new Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex is designed to target a certain type of damage called Alkylation Damage, caused by smoke, pollution, toxins and chemicals: in short, life in the 21st century. It also features some sort of fancy-pants science called Chronolux Technology that forced me to re-read the press release about five times before it finally seeped into my head. (It’s been that kind of morning. Coffee–stat!)
In a nutshell, we possess something called clock genes, which involve timed repair responses in accordance with the body’s circadian rhythms. The R&D whizzes at Lauder have developed a way to (okay, it’s time for the press release to chime in…): “ support the natural synchronization of skin’s repair and protective mechanisms. The result is comprehensive skin repair at exactly the right time.”
Impressive…but does it work? I’m receiving a sample next week, so will keep you posted!
