I spent the better part of my 16th year fearing my impending doom (aka chemistry final exam) . Carbon, Zinc, fluorine (light bulbs?), alkali metals, noble gasses….. Misery. I said it would be far too soon if I never saw another covalent bond as long as I lived. A bit dramatic I know. But, not unlike most proclamations made in my teens, I have since adjusted my position – and reacquainted myself with the magical powers of minerals and magnets.(albeit mostly in the name of vanity).
If you’ve ever visited the Dead Sea (or just googled it) you might recall a surprising amount of enthusiasm surrounding 2 things; floating, and covering yourself in mud. It’s the type of joy you really can’t fake.
And it’s all for good reason. The Dead Sea is the only body of water to contain 21 different minerals including calcium, bromide, sodium chloride, potassium and more – all of which are packed with feel good and look good properties.
Minus 417 is an all natural brand that mixes the ancient healing properties of the Dead Sea with modern day science – and the result is nothing short of amazing. Offering a product range that replenishes lost moisture, restores radiance and evades aging, all while using energising minerals and metallic particles to stimulate blood flow and optimise cell efficiency. Just makes you want to smile doesn’t it?
After getting over the initial shock that I would be slathering my face with mud and removing it with a magnet I set forth on my journey. Using the provided spatula, I smoothed the obsidian mask (that has more of the consistency of jelly) over my face and waited 10 minutes. I’ll admit I was a little skeptical about the whole magnet thing. The instructions tell you to wrap the magnet in a tissue and glide over your face to remove the mud. I of course read this and immediately assumed the magnet was merely a prop and I would really just be wiping the mask off with a tissue.
I was wrong.
Tissue wrapped magnet, in hand, I glided it ever so lightly over my face, barely touching my skin at all, and wouldn’t ya know, that mud jumped right off my face. With each swipe of the magnet, not only did I feel like I was back in high school chem class, but my skin did too. Glowing, supple, and really moisturized, my skin was amazing. The best part for me was actually looking at the ends of the iron filings and seeing the dead skin and debris that had been extracted from my pores.
Kind of like this
Whether you’re longing for the skin of 16 year old you, or just really like magnets and mud – you should definitely give this range a try!
