MAC Cosmetics purple eyeshadows: In the Gallery quad and Violet Trance shadow

My blossoming love affair with MAC led to a series of videos recorded in my bathroom this weekend! Here, I talk about two of my favorite new eyeshadows, both purple: MAC’s limited-edition In the Gallery quad, and Violet Trance eyeshadow.
Purple eyeshadow might seem daunting, but it doesn’t need to be! Apply it in your crease and on lids, and balance it with a more neutral shade, like nude, taupe or bronze. (Sometimes, I just dip an eyeshadow brush in my NARS Laguna bronzer and use that as eyeshadow underneath my purple.) Purple eyeshadow doesn’t need to be paired with a strong lip, but make sure your skin looks flawless (even complexion, plus blush and/or bronzer), because even the slightest hint of redness will make you look a bit ill.
Remember: makeup exists to have fun, so play with it and figure out what works for you! You can’t learn without making mistakes, so don’t be afraid to look like a drunken clown…as long as you’re in the safety of your own bathroom!
