Using makeup on acne can be tricky business. One the one hand, you want to hide those spots as much as possible, but on the other you don’t want to use thick layers of foundation and potentially make the acne worse or less likely to heal quickly.
You may be surprised to hear that you probably don’t need as much makeup as you might think for acneic skin. Start with a light, tined moisturiser all over the face to even out skin tone. Next, really examine your acne. Chances are it’s in specific areas, such as around the jaw and chin. Take a liquid foundation and pat a small amount over these areas to take down redness, being careful not to use too much product. Next, go in with a concealer and use it just on the spots.
Using a light hand like this will not only give a good finish but it won’t clog your pores or make your skin feel uncomfortable, like layers of heavy foundation can do.
