- Wear extra wide contact lenses.
- Take care of the condition of the delicate skin around your eyes. Dark circles, redness, eye bags, eye puffiness, breakouts and wrinkles around the eye will impact the appearance of your eyes.
- Choose skincare products carefully to reduce breakouts breakouts.
- Stay away from harsh chemicals like alcohol which will inflame tender skin.
- Soothe skin with ingredients like aloe and milk proteins to smooth bumps and redness away.
- To reduce puffines, get enough sleep, and add a pillow to your sleep to keep the head elevated and reduce puffiness. Reduce salt intake in your diet, and drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated. Add a cool compress in the morning before you start your day.
- If you have dry eyes or injected bloodshot, consider using tear drops to moisten the eyes which helps brighten up the eyes.

- Curl your eyelashes before applying mascara. Curl at the roots, release and curl halfway up the eyelashes. Aim to get the tips to touch your eyelids.
- Apply mascara to your bottom lashes as well- hold the brush vertically, then sweep it back and forth.
- Use false eyelashes- particularly the outer half of the eyes.
- Use a creamy white eye pencil to line your lower lids.
- A white liner can also be used to line the inside corner of both the upper and lower lids. Alternatively, use a light eyeshadow as a highlighter in the inner corners.
- Highlight along the outer half of your browbone.
- Avoid heavy lining of your eyes particularly the lower lid.
- Subtly extend your eyeshadow outwards at the sides, taking care to blend it well so that it fades naturally away into the skin.
- Use light/soft/neutral eyeshadow colours. Walnut browns and heather grays for light skin and honey browns or medium-dark browns for darker skin. You don’t want to use a color that is too deep or striking or one that contrasts too much with your natural skin tone. (Darker, brighter colors make eyes look smaller.) Note that shimmery eyeshadows will accentuate wrinkles and creases around the eyes.
- For dark circles, gently pat a neutral or yellow-toned concealer underneath the eyes to help counteract blue and brown tones.
- Apply foundation to upper eyelids to give your eyes an even tone and help makeup last longer.
- To reduce pulling at the delicate skin around the eyes, pick soft liners and shadows that glide on and don’t require you to tug or pull at your skin while applying.
