But lo! Don’t cry for me–the weekend has already been epic. We’re staying at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, which completely lives up to the hype. The rooms are high-tech, with mission control systems in both the TVs and the bedside photo, which means you can be a lazy blob and do everything (including plan shows, book dinner reservations, order room service, and turn on/off the lights) while snuggled underneath the covers. The bathroom–always the most important location for moi–also features a huge combination sunken tub bath/rainhead-shower ROOM that’s probably the size of my first apartment in New York City.
Tiaras and sashes were handed out; I "won" Miss Congeniality
Last night, we didn’t even leave the hotel, enjoying welcome cocktails at the Chandelier Bar, dinner at STK and then a private table with bottle service at Marquee. I guess I’ve turned into an old man, however, since I only sipped half a cocktail at Marquee before deciding that I had much more pressing concerns at hand: hitting the floor of the casino to play Craps. I found a table that looked promising, quickly had the dice passed to me, and led my table to 25 minutes of damn-near cinematic victory, complete with hugging, high-fiving, and fist-bumping.
Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner - free of baddies like sulfates and parabens
I’ve heard a lot about Wen over the years and have naturally seen their mesmerizing infomercials but have never actually tried the line, despite having several of the products sitting in my beauty closet. Wen’s founder, celebrity hair guru Chaz Dean, created the line in response to all the harsh products out there, wanting something more natural and nourishing for the hair WITH botanicals and WITHOUT all the nasty baddies like sulfates and parabens. The most revolutionary product in the Wen line, in my opinion, is the Cleansing Conditioner, which is a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner that gets rid of dirt, oil and residue while leaving your hair insanely detangled and soft. I didn’t believe it until I tried it myself this morning, and I’m already a convert.
Wish I could write more, but I am running late for the day’s scheduled activities. My fingers are crossed that Miss California wins tonight! In the meantime, follow me tonight on Twitter @NadineJolie for the behind-the-scenes scoop.
