FLUF Designs creates sustainable and stylish textiles for the home and it's probably right about now that you're thinking "company is coming next week and I'm so not ready!". Though I don't have family coming in this year, I have had interior decor on the brain as evidenced by this post . All FLUF fabrics are printed on unbleached hemp and organic cotton and printed with water-based, biodegradable dyes in Canada. They make fabulous pillows, handbags, shopping bags and lunch bags. Make favorite pattern of theirs has got to be Landscape (seen in the photo above + below).
I really like the NINA bag (in Smokey Gray Landscape) that FLUF sent me to try. It's a light unlined bag that's made from 55% hemp + 45% organic cotton. I like it's curvy shape, natural handmade feel, the size (pretty perfect for me) and the interior pocket for my cell phone, lip balm, small notepad (I use to jot down blog post ideas) and pens. I'm also digging these small reversible bags
These would make a great gift!
Two moms, Nathalie Butterfield and Terra Kushner, created FLUF three years ago and while they don't sew or print the fabrics themselves they do everything else on their own (i.e. answering phones, shipping, PR, etc.) FLUF fabrics are all hand-printed and sewn locally (in Canada) using biodegradable, water-based (no heavy metals used, ever).
