Back in December I ordered a free sample kit from Everyday Minerals and tried out their powder foundation. I think the drastic change in weather (changing from 50+ degrees to cold and snowy weather in a day or two) hit my skin hard, and while I was trying the new foundation my skin completely dried out and itchy red spots showed up around my eyes. My face hurt so badly that I had to stop using everything and switch to gentler skincare products and makeup.
I've been hesitant to try using the EDM foundation again because of the chance that my face had a reaction to the minerals, but I think it's safe to try...and if I happen to have a similar reaction, at least I already own all the Eucerin and Purpose products to get my skin back to normal.
Face: Smashbox Primer Too Faced Second Base (under eyes) Revlon concealer (under eyes) EDM Golden Medium Intensive EDM Daydream blush (matte)
Eyes: MAC Paint Pot - Bare Study ELF Moonbeam e/s (inner corner) Pure Luxe Apricot e/s (middle of lid) Pure Luxe Bloom e/s (outer corner, lower lashline) MAC Dazzlelight (highlight) Maybelline Ultra Liner - black Wet n Wild eyeliner (waterline) L'Oreal Telescopic and Voluminous mascara
I think the color matches my skin fairly well, and so far no skin irritation. I'm going to try it out for a few more days and see what happens. I also tried out some of my Pure Luxe shadows from my previous haul, and I like the light wash of color. I wear a lot of neutral colors, so for now the little hint of color is comfortable for me.
I spent a good portion of the weekend depotting my MAC shadows. If you haven't checked out Enkore before, he's got a great tutorial on depotting without using any heat - all you need is a knife, wire cutters (or if you're ghetto like me, a pair of cuticle clippers), and some rubbing alcohol. As long as you're patient, this method works great!
