Drugstore Buys

Posted Dec 15 2007 12:00am

So while I was waiting for a prescription to get filled this morning, I wandered around CVS and spent more than I intended to (as always) when I saw the following items:

L'Oreal Voluminous and Telescopic Mascara: They were Buy One Get One 50% off, so I figured I'd try them out.

Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner: I've been avoiding toners/astringents in my skincare routine because they always felt like they were stripping too much moisture from my skin, but it's time to try again.

Skin Effects Eye Effects Dual Action Under Eye Therapy: I meant to pick up the eye cream with Vitamin C, but after reading the package I decided to keep it.

Lumene Vitamin+ Radiant C-energy Eye Intensive Renewing Eye Serum: Most of the Lumene products I've tried in the past have worked fairly well, and I needed something better than the BeneFit EyeCon cream I've been using, so this seemed like a decent choice. Which leads me to my testing phase...

The Lumene Serum
is in a glass vial with a rollerball to dispense the product, so you don't have to worry about germs by digging it out of a jar, or dispensing too much if you were to squeeze a tube. Their website says "The light, invigorating texture and intelligent roll-on applicator give the delicate skin round your eyes a gentle, relaxing massage. Precious active ingredients (Cloudberry and Vitamin C) help the skin fight the signs of aging and used regularly, help to reduce dark circles under the eyes. Fragrance- and colorant free. Dermatologically tested."

Leaves your skin feeling irresistibly renewed and invigorated. Helps to reduce dark circles under the eyes.
• Arctic Cloudberry seed oil boosts skin revitalization by reinforcing the skin's natural protective barrier. Protects the skin from radical damage and enhance regeneration.
• Caffeine activates microcirculation and enhances the regeneration process of the skin. Helps reduce dark circles and puffiness under the eyes.
• Vitamin C boosts the skin's collagen synthesis, moisturizes, brightens and improves skin elasticity.
• Algae extract obtained from seaweed strengthens the skin and activates its functions. The extract contains active Fucoidan, which stimulates microcirculation and helps reduce fine lines, dark circles and puffiness under the eyes.

Considering it's about 4:30, I'm going to wrap this up and try it out before I go to bed...
