difference between french tip and american tip on artificail nails?

Posted by Susie

I have artificial nails and just had them refilled about 3 weeks ago for the first time since the new pair about 5 weeks prior. I want to have a white tip for my son's wedding. I want them to look natural, not pinkish. I don't know what to ask for American tip and have them filled again. My salon is a little difficult to understand. If I do French tip, they said I have to have a whole new artificial nail put on. My questions: Which tip looks more natural? Will I have to have whole new nails put on to get the natural look with white on the tips?  Thank you.

There are many salons that don't know the difference from American and French tip.  If you want, you can get French tip nails with the white cream sheer over the white tips. Make sure it's not the sheer that yellows. If you are going to use acrylic nails, you should get them done every two weeks to keep them from lifting. You don't want that to happen because then you get infections and fungus of your nails.  That may have been the reason you were told you needed all new nails.
