An American company is formulating a line of fragrances. The range, called Antiquity, is based on the DNA of dead celebrities including Elvis Presley, Albert Einstein, Marilyn Monroe and even Michael Jackson.
The company, which also makes individualized scents based on a customer’s cheek swab, says it’s using hair clippings provided by celebrity hair collector John Reznikoff to get the star DNA.
“I can’t go into our secret process, but we base the fragrance on the genetic code,” said Dr. Diva Verdun, chief development officer at MyDNAFragrance.com.
The process of creating the fragrances seems to be shrouded in mystery, leaving the company with little credibility. But even if you knew the science, smelling like a dead celebrity really isn’t my style. Would you buy it?
