CherryCulture Lip Product Reviews

Posted Apr 08 2008 12:00am

Since I've already reviewed the horrible NYX fruit lip balm, here are rest of the reviews as well as swatches for the other lip products that I got from CherryCulture.com

They are:
- Amuse Sweet and Shine Lip gloss in Vanilla
- Princessa 3 in 1 Pencil in Mauve
- NYX Fruit Gloss in Peach
- Amuse Chocolate Lip Gloss in Tea Rose
- Amuse Chocolate Lip Gloss in Baby Pink (Carmen gave this to me because the color wasn't right for her. Thanks Carmen!)

Amuse Vanilla Gloss (2nd swatch): The scent isn't too overpowering but I'm not sure if it smells like vanilla. It smelled more like bubblegum. The texture isn't too bad either. Slightly watery and not too sticky and it does give a pretty good shine. However, the shine doesn't last long maybe just for a few minutes. I hate the applicator because the hole is too big and gloss keeps flowing out of it and when I squeeze it too much product comes out. It isn't horribly bad because I still ike the glossiness of it but I don't like it that much either. Not something that I'd use on a daily basis.
My Rating: 2.5/5

Princessa 3 in 1
(1st Swatch): I got this color so that I can use it on the lips and and the cheeks as well. I love the texture of this pencil. It's glides on really really smooth and gives off like a satin shine finish which is really beautiful both on the lips and cheeks. It's not too moisturizing though for the lips so I'd advise using it as a base color then top it off with a gloss or lip balm. It does have a pretty good lasting power. Another function for this jumbo pencil is that you can use it on your eyes as well so perhaps you can use it as a base color for your shadows. Not a bad product at all. Oh! and the packaging is ingenious! I was expecting a traditional pencil that has to be sharpened but it's actually a twist tube shaped like a pencil. Very cute indeed.
My Rating: 4/5

NYX Fruit Gloss (3rd Swatch):
I like the applicator and shine that the gloss gives although the formula is a tad too watery. It's actually quite similar to the Amuse vanilla gloss. The peach scent is really nice, not too strong but really yummy-smelling. The blue color is just like a tint to give that water-shine look. It's not a bad product but the cap!!! It leaks like there's no tomorrow. It didn't matter how tight I've twisted the cap, it still leaked! Maybe I just got a bad batch but it sucks that I can't put this in my bag. Luckily, the tube has a flat base so I can stand it up on my cosmetic rack.
My Rating: 3/5

Amuse Chocolate Gloss: The chocolate scent is yummy and I love the texture of the gloss. It's quite thick so that I don't need a lot of product but it's also easy to blend. The color is semi-opaque which is usually what I prefer as I have really pale lips that I usually can't take wearing glosses on its own. The colors have slight shimmers in it too so that looks really pretty. The staying power of the gloss isn't half bad either. It's a gloss that I can use everyday, that's why I like it. And the black cap make it look cleaner as well. However, quality control is a problem here. My Tea Rose (4th Swatch and lip swatch) tube, there actually is some separation of color and emollient but the Baby Pink (right swatch) didn't have this problem.
My Rating: 4/5
