Chemical Peel Report: Day After

Posted Jun 10 2009 8:43am

This is the first blog post I will be posting after getting a chemical peel.  The chemical peel I chose to do was the ViPeel by the famous Dr. A.F. Kalil.  Living in South Florida, I am lucky enough to have met this famous skin care expert and become friendly with him.

So yesterday I did this famous chemical peel that has been getting all sorts of media attention.  Wow, what a procedure.  I always knew of the power of chemical peels, but never had one done of this nature.  Dr. Kalil does sell his famous ViPeel to several other Doctors in a network he has created, and some people sell it for up to $1,000.  Luckily, being local and having a relationship with one of his to estheticians, I was given a good price in hopes of many more peels.

The peel actually smells quite funny.  The face stings after a while.  But, at the end of the day it's not very painful.  I've used many wrinkle treatments such as botox and other procedures that are much more painful.

I left with my skin feeling tight and pulled, almost like I was in the tanning bed or outside in the sun too long.  It's not uncomfortable, but I have to say the shine is great.  It's like none other.  I was told days one and two are the best the skin will look, and then by day three I will see some skin falling off little by little.  If this is good, I can't wait to see myself next week.

Before bedtime I had to apply a dabbing of a pad that is medicated with different stuff, in order to treat the area.  However, I can't use my top wrinkle cream for now, not until next week.  I am stuck with just moisturizers, which I guess is ok but I am used to using all of my products.

So, day one was easy.  Hopefully tomorrow I can wake up and feel and see a difference.  While I am not looking forward to the peeling process, I am looking forward to my new look next week as I look in the mirror.  I did have some red spots, which were called some fancy name that I can't recall, that are seemingly vanishing.  I am overall quite excited for this procedure and can't wait to see the "new me."

Will have an update tomorrow and post what happened today as I keep updating the blog to talk about my chemical peel!
