Over the weekend, I took a little trip up to NYC to attend a tea party with some fabulous ladies. The plan was to arrive in our dresses and pearls and sip on tea. My plans went horribly awry...
"Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!"
-White Rabbit
I left Philly wearing jeans and a sweater, carrying my tea dress with me because it was windy and chilly that morning. I rushed to get to the bus stop, only to realize that the bus was late, and I'd left my mp3 player charging at home. It was a LONG ride up to NYC, thanks to the chatty girl that sat next to me.
"I'm late, I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!"
-White Rabbit
I was unforgivably late to the tea party because the bus didn't even GET to the designated stop until an hour the scheduled arrival time (NYC traffic, wheee!). No time to change into my dress, I started walking to try and catch a cab, but no one wanted to stop! Finally managed to grab a cab and arrived at
Alice's Tea Cup Chapter II , where everyone was seated upstairs. I ordered the first two things that looked appetizing on the menu, so as not to hold up the rest of the orders...and the rest of the meal was spent mmm-ing and ooh-ing at food...

pinkies up, ladies!

you know how the beauty/foodie bloggers roll!

my tea - chocolate chai, I believe...
it helped relieve the headache that I got from riding the bus

sipping Southern style - demure fanning with one hand, pinky up in the other

After the tea party, some ladies had to leave, but Vickie, Tammy, little Jenn, Lynnie, Helen, and I did a little window shopping (and real shopping) to pass the time. I was tempted by the new scents at Sabon, but the thought of carrying a huge jar home with me kept me from purchasing anything. (there's always next week though!) There was some ogling of purses and shoes at Bloomingdales and perusing at Sephora...and then I had to say goodbye to catch my bus back home. Thankfully catching a cab wasn't as difficult, and the bus was on time...so I made it home safe, even though I didn't get to wear my dress and I ended up bruising a few toes in my new shoes, haha.
When I got home, this little guy was there to greet me -

Who doesn't love a snuggie?!
