I once jumped on rollerblades, proceeded to fall after landing, and couldn't move one of my legs for a just about an hour afterward. Wasn't all that fun, but I had grown up skating on the road, on and near hills, not in a skate park. Since I'm not too good on ramps, I'm even a little intimidated by the ones at the parks.
I think once you put on a pair of wheels, there are risks involved. But if you know what you're doing and wear the correct safety equipment, you reduce that risk greatly.

Skaters say the danger is a big part of the fun, but safety experts want things to be a little less dangerous. So would you rather skate on a park that's safe, or is the risk more important than a few scratches and bruises?
