Is severe stabbing/electric pain in vulva/vaginal area a symptom of Herpes?

I have had Herpes for over 10 years, with monthly outbreaks for the first two years presymptomatic with tingling in the area.  I have had none since.  My current symptoms feel like someone is stabbing me in the vaginal area with a taser set to low.
