Will running for 20 mintues a day and then swimming help me lose more weight?

Posted by Benazir N.

I have been running for about 20 minutes a day, and right after that sitting in the sauna for 5-10 minutes and going for a swim, just a nice relaxing swim.

How will this affect my fat burning and metabolism?

Running will probably raise your metabolism a bit. The actual number of calories burned per mile varies with the individual, but 100 calories per mile is a typical figure. So you need to run a lot of miles to reduce, since each mile is worth about 3500 calories. Be sure you reduce your caloric intake by about 400 calories per day. Aim to lose a pound per week. I don't know what effect your swimming and relaxing in the sauna will have on your weight.
