Where to Start...

Posted Mar 31 2011 12:00am
Its really hard to just pick up and start writing a blog. What to write about? Who is going to read it? Will I sound like an idiot? Will I actually have things interesting enough going on in my life to write about?

Probably the number one reason I want to do this is to motivate myself to really get into my running. I have been a pretty casual runner over the last 4 years and have a great time running in local races of varying lengths with my friends. I've had good and bad races but have never been able to fully commit to the running lifestyle and the challenges it presents. Training has always taken a back seat to the 100s of other things I have going on and now that I want to complete a marathon, its time to kick it up a notch (ok, many notches). I want to use this to keep track of my training and races as well as an outlet for my triumphs and frustrations as I progress in my running.

The other side of my life is spent as an Office Manager at a successful company right in the heart of downtown Madison, WI. I also work part time as a gymnastics instructor - something very near and dear to my heart since I was young. Between these two jobs I see a lot of funny stuff. It will be nice to have a chance to document all the quirky things that happen in these two very different environments.

I am married to Kevin- my high school sweetheart. We've been married for 4 years now and owned a home for 2 years. We're slowly but surely getting this house they way we like it. I am learning that I am not a very good cook or landscaper - but I try!

Besides all of that super exciting 99% of my life I have many other things I like to try to squeeze in. I'm sure these will come up here and there as my blog experiment continues! Until next time....
