Weekly Workout Roundup and Plan for the Week

It’s been a really long time since I’ve had a solid 5 day week of working out to recap!

Daily mile weekly totals

Back in the 5 days a week habit!

Monday: Trainer session (lots of legs/core because my thumb is still sore and the incision isn’t closed yet).
Tuesday: Lunch run – 2.5 miles, 1 mile walk
Wednesday: Trainer session (more legs/core/back)
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Lunch run – 2.55 miles
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: Run 3.5 miles

It pains me that these are big numbers right now, but it’s where I am in life and the more I see the positives in how much I’m finally able to do, the happier I’ll be. And let me tell you, being outside for 3.5 miles on a gorgeous 70 degree Sunday was AMAZING, even though there was a lot of walking going on.

Goals for the coming week:
Monday/Wednesday trainer sessions
3 days of running (ideally Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday)
1 swim (Thursday or Sunday)
So much hamstring stretching

My return to running has been brutal for my chronically tight hamstrings. I mean…seriously, they’re so tight that it makes it hard to run. I need to be more proactive and work through them before they’re this bad! I’m hoping to work on them with the trainer twice too.

How do you keep your hamstrings loose? What are your favorite stretches for running?
