This weekend I worked the Long Beach Bike Festival. Long Beach is a very bike friendly city and they had a bunch of really cool events going on this past weekend. I traveled out on Saturday to downtown and it was a gorgeous day to be out there.
But before I went to the bike fest I finally got in a decent ‘longer’ run for me at 6 miles. I felt good the entire time and ran right around 8:30 pace. I think the break was the best thing for me and finally realizing that’s what I needed to do to make myself feel better was good too. Now I’m working my way back onto a schedule where I’m running 3-4 days a week. Hopefully I’ll be able to bump up my mileage as well. This weekend I’m hoping to get in an 8 miler for my long run and about 10-15 miles during the week. Nothing too serious as far as training goes just yet.
As I was driving home from said bike fest, I happened upon this guy. First of all, I he was on the path I was driving for quite some time and there are a lot of lights and stop signs so we kept leap frogging each other, which leads me to believe he was running a VERY fast pace for a significant amount of time. In these clothes….
A beanie and a flannel shirt? Weird choice of outfits I guess. I had to laugh though, and he gets my respect because I know he was running fast. Oh and it was a warm 78 degrees out. :)
Yesterday was most excellent because I spent it with Shea and her mom. We traveled to her uncles and also to the brand new Nordstrom in the Cerritos Mall. It was really nice and I can’t wait to make another trip in the future. I worked a little bit on the packing and throwing away of random crap for our move as well. Overall, a very good weekend!
