If I were more of an entrepreneur, I could have been the one to turn a quirky race like the Ugly Holiday Sweater Dash in West Linn, Oregon, into a large, well-sponsored series of racing events across the country called the Ugly Sweater Run .
Alas, I merely ran a single blog post with a series of now mostly dead links to photos of ugly Christmas sweaters and then moved on. But don’t let my lack of foresight ruin your good time. The 5k race will grace eight cities, perhaps more, during the months of November and December.
Your entry fee gets you a Santa or reindeer hat, a fake mustache, aid stations with hot chocolate, sledding (!) and an opportunity to win a prize for worst holiday sweater.
Ah, who cares about all that stuff? The most important thing is the race is sponsored by Samuel Adams (brewer and patriot), which means a free pint glass and two Winter Lagers after the race.
