Triangle and Thich Nhat Hanh Mindfulness

Posted Jan 27 2013 1:42am
"Feelings, whether of compassion or irritation, should be welcomed, recognized, and treated on an absolutely equal basis; because both are ourselves.  The tangerine I am eating is me.  The mustard greens I am planting are me.  I plant with all my heart and mind.  I clean this teapot with the kind of attention i would have were I fiving the baby Buddha or Jesus a bath.  Nothing should be treated more carefully than anything else.  In mindfulness, compassion, irritation, mustard green plant, and teapot are all sacred."
~Thich Nhat Hanh, The Miracle of Mindfulness: An Introduction to the Practice of Meditation~

The photo below is one from a few days ago but it is one of my favorites.   Little Archimedes loved laying and hanging out with me.   There is something about laying on the floor.  We don't do it often as adults.   I do more now that I do yoga.   The boys however are always on the floor.  I remember that from childhood fondly.   Laying and looking at the ceiling or out the window and day dreaming....

Namaste
