So lately I’ve obviously been working a lot. This puts the lovely training/running/working out plan on the back burner.
I realized basically in August that I need to re-visit my training and goals when it comes to working out, because my new job is just not going to allow me the freedom to do what I used to and workout like I used to. I also realized I feel way better when I’m not training for a full marathon. I feel the worst when I’m in training for a full because I’m SO hungry all the time and I eat way more food than I should and I’m incredibly tired all the time.
My next full marathon won’t be the Malibu Marathon as planned. It will most likely be the LA Marathon again. I really want to focus on getting healthy and working on my speed until then with some fun little 5ks and a few halfs from now until then. I know once I train for LA, beginning in mid-January to early February, I hope to have a great base where I can go run 13-15 miles no problem. I plan on doing this following this plan.
Mondays – Cross-Training or short run(3-6 miles)/speedwork day
Tuesdays – Yoga/Cross-Training day
Wednesday – “long” run during the week day (run 4-10 miles)
Thursday – Yoga/Cross-Training day
Friday – Rest day
Saturday and Sunday are flip-floppable, pending on expos and events that I have to work. I hope to run no less than 10 miles every weekend. Hopefully getting up around 13-15 most weekends for a long run. The day that I don’t do my long run will be a rest or easy gym day.
Now with my nutrition and bloody toes FINALLY under control, I’m excited to just go out and run and enjoy it again. I am planning out a few races that I want to run in the fall and will post those soon. With training for a full not for a little bit again, I’m looking forward to having some time to enjoy the run again and not be burned out by running. I also feel much better when I go to the gym and switch things up. With just running all the time, I don’t feel as healthy.
So now I leave you with this on this lovely Friday.
I found this lovely gem in the sign making area after the race when we were cleaning up. Hello most awesome, funny and random thing EVER! I know have it hanging in my office.
Speaking of offices, I FINALLY cleaned and re-did my office for our next upcoming race, The LA County Holiday Half Marathon!
Long Beach is now on the back part of my desk and it’s onto the Holiday race! I’m pretty excited about this race because it’s smaller and we have a lot of cute holiday stuff to go along with the theme! My lovely octopus still looks down on me and I admit, it’s still not spic and span, but it’s much, much better than when it looked like Long Beach just threw up all over everything.
So tomorrow I’m looking forward to a short 6-8 miler, seeing that I haven’t run really at all since Camarillo. I’m looking forward to it and the great weather we’ve been having here.
YAY!
xoxo
