Hi,

Is this condition from your running? If not, I would suggest a visit to a doctor. If so, the first thing I would be suspicious of is over-use, that is too much intensity in your training and not enough rest between workouts. If it were me, I wouldn't run or do a lot of walking until this condition is gone. Be sure you do a lot of stretching to both losen your muscles and to strengthen them. Here are the stretches I do

Here are some general comments about stretching.

Wornout shoes, or the wrong shoes, are another possibility. There are three types of running shoes, and it is easy to get the wrong type. Most runners replace their shoes after 400 - 500 miles.

Here is my article on shoes.

Hopefully, other runners will jump in with their comments.

running.about.com has a new discussion on pain in ones foot. Maybe that discussion will give you ideas for consideration.
