Three Things Thursday 6/17

Okay so in all actuality this post is going to be 9 things but I will do 3 list of 3 things so I can pass it off as 3.

1. Three Things I am glad I had on race day
  • Chocolate Outrage GU: These were truly the highlight of miles 4, 8 and 12.
  • Wristband: I would wet it at water stations and use it to wipe my face down in between stations, life saver.
  • MP3 Player: I was debating on depending on course entertainment or bringing my own and I am glad I opted to bring my own because there were some pretty big gaps between the provided course entertainment.
2. Three things I want to have for future races
  • Garmin: Now that I have my first 1/2 marathon out of the way and have a starting # the goal is to do better than the next time and a Garmin would really help with that, so husband or mom if your reading this a Forerunner 110 would be greatly appreciated.
  • Travel hand sanitizer: don't think this one needs explanation
  • Handheld water bottle: I realized from running without my own water that even if I don't necessarily need to use it I would like to have the option. Like insurance better to have it and not need it than to not have it and need it.
3. Now what? Now that the I've made it through my 1/2 marathon (check that off the list) I need some new goals to focus on the rest of the year so here is what I am thinking

Plan A:
  • Run a 5k under 30 mins.
  • Run an official 10k
  • Run my 2nd 1/2 marathon in under 2:40
Plan B: I sign up for every RnR 1/2 Marathon within driving distance

What goals are you working to accomplish this year or what goals have you already completed?
