This is why I am a morning exerciser

Posted Nov 04 2009 10:03pm

And so Friday is finally here!

To me it means just over 24 hours until we change those clocks! Summer time is finally here. I have been trying to adjust my sleeping hours to an hour back since I wanna resume my 5 AM runs, but it has not been easy this week, mainly due to darkness and cold. Hopefully, Daylight Saving Time will work its magic.

After I was done with work I headed to Tesco for some grocery shopping and then went home in hopes to start running. I really needed to run, for some reason my body was screaming RUNNING all the time. As opposed to shredding/ellipticaling.

Well my ma really wanted me to clean the house before the brother and sister came from their school so I gave in but told her lunch was on the menu first. I just had some steamed veggies and Wasa crackers, topped with FAGE Tzatziki and Rio Mare tuna, and started feeling so.sick. Nauseated and having severe stomach ache. I also dipped my baby carrots in some FAGE Total and my accusing finger is pointing at FAGE. I think the fact that it is high in fat (for my standards at least; I normally go for fat-free to 2% options) is the cause. My stomach could not handle it well.

Besides, I am much more of a morning exercises. I would rather work out on an “ empty ” stomach (as in, digesting a simple granola bar) rather than a full meal, even if the exercise comes into play 2 hours later.

Well I felt so sick (even a while after) that I was not sure I could handle a run outside. So I put Jillian’s Shred on, Level 2, which by now if my favourite, and after about 30 minutes I seemed prepared for a run. Today I did 4 hilly laps and 1 straight lap for my cool down.

Running Time

Average HR

Highest HR

28 minutes

172 BPM

181 BPM

Afterwards I did some stretching and started getting ready for dinner. My ma made these gorgeous potatoes:

Basically, she just peeled and chopped about 8 medium potatoes, spread them on the platter and brushed them with some olive oil, salt and parsley (make the mixture in a separate cup and then brush). Bake it in the oven until its brown (or slightly burned as we like it!)

But my stomach was just not up for it so I tried some vegetables instead and small wrap, and finished with a large apple. I feel like I stuffed myself but I had to eat.

Tomorrow I plan to wake up and then either go straight out for a run OR shred and then run. I have class later on (yet another seminar), and then I am meeting one of my BFFs for some wedding details! Remember? I am going to be a bridesmaid!

For you to notice…

I do like Dashboard Confessional but that’s not the point.

First off, I am so excited about the FOOD BLOGGER BOOK CLUB Bender has set up! Please head over to her site for more details!

Then, head over to Melissa’s site for a Newman’s Own giveaway and an opportunity for you to request a food you would like to see made healthier! I have a ton, but pasta is really a problem in our house, especially because I am the only one who wants it whole wheat and the others cannot stand its smell.

And finally, check out my very own site TOMORROW because I will be having a GIVEAWAY!

Alright, off to read Letters to Rob. Twilight still hasn’t finished downloading, and well, reading that site makes me smile.
