The Weekly Worthies

While reading the multi social media outlets that I love to peruse daily, I decided to bring a few over to RunTrackMind for some extra recognition.

Thanks to Jess at FitChickInTheCity the Adductor Stretch was brought to my attention.  Let’s face it running is a priority in my life and learning new ways to keep my body healthy enough for the mileage demand is something that causes me to sit up and take notice.  The adductor muscle group plays an important role is stabilizing the pelvis, hip, and knee so obviously important in running.  I do wish the audio was clearer, but overall a great source of info.  I decided to give the stretch as depicted a try and after I did, it is for sure something I will add to my routine.


Sweet Treat

ChocolateCoveredKatie presented us with a No Bake Mocha Chocolate Chip Cookies which takes less than 10 minutes to make.  And no bake in the summer?  Perfection.

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder or cacao powder (I used cacao)
  • 3/4 cup quick oats (gluten free)
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp oat flour (I went with Almond flour)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup plus 1 tbsp xylitol or sugar (I used unrefined date sugar)
  • 1 1/2 tsp instant coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips or mini chocolate chips (gluten free)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil or coconut oil (Coconut oil all the way)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Directions are easy peasy.  Mix your dry ingredients and add your combined wet ingredients.  Blend the dry and wet together and place in the refrigerator for 5 minutes (makes the dough easier to use).  Roll into balls and return to the fridge until you are ready to indulge.  Note my changes to the original recipe shown in green above.  After making my first batch (won’t be my last) I will amend it even further by eliminating the salt.



I started this No Joke Ab Challenge July 1, but I found day 11 such a fun workout I decided to give it some extra attention.  When I began this challenge I didn’t  think I would survive day 3, but I am getting stronger with each workout and loving it!  It’s not to late to join the fun.  Start your own 30 day challenge today. 



Making a difference in the lives of others is a daily goal I would love to incorporate in my life.  I discovered this blog post via Pinterest and what a huge inspiration it has been.  The writer used her birthday to take her children around town spreading 35 Random Acts of Kindness .  Check out how easy it can be to make a difference.  What we think may be a small gesture could be a huge deal to the one receiving it.  You just never know.



Laughter can release stress and of course its been said to be the best kind of medicine.  Well this video cracks me up.  It is so silly, but it hits the funny bone.  Don’t  miss out!
