The One When I Realize I’m a Month Into Training for My First Spring Half

Whew, it was a good week! While I’ve tried to set up my half training plan to only have 3 runs per week so I still have energy to cross trail but this week was one where I must not have been paying much attention and I ended up with 4.  I still managed to fit in two extra trips to the gym.

Totals: 4 Runs – 18 miles, 1(ish) swim – 1800 yards, and one ride on the gym bike (7.4 miles). I did miss my yoga class on Tuesday but I had the most horrible headache all day. It got a lot better while I was running but as soon as I was done, I felt like puking for the rest of the day.  The idea of bending over for a downward dog… well that made me feel even more nauseated so I stayed home.

This week, I’m back down to 13 miles of running, 1 yoga class and 2 swims.  I am so excited for my swim lessons to finally start!  I felt like I was back to flopping around in the pool today and it was disappointing after having such a good swim on Wednesday night .

I can’t believe I’m just about a month into my training for the spring races.  If time keeps moving this quickly, it’s going to be March 4th before I know it. But not before I enjoy my day off from work tomorrow.
