Considering how many people travel to New York on a regular basis, this year should be expected to welcome another groundbreaking amount. That of course will not make it less appealing, for it is the very hustle and bustle of the big city that brings attention to it in the first place. However, there is something that will make a trip to the sate a bit different this year, something many travellers might not have thought about.
The build up to the premier of the latest big screen version of the Great Gatsby is underway. Not only are people buying the F. Scott Fitzgerald book in staggering numbers, but the fashion reports state that the trends will reflect the era in which the film takes place. Since the book is set on Long Island’s North Shore and the city of New York, it is only natural that the biggest celebration of this book, film, and style will take place in the Big Apple.
As it is, on its own the novel is considered to be a prime example of American story writing. So, foreigners will benefit from a read through, prior to a trip to the country. Then, note that there will probably be no other time to visit the city when it will be more reminiscent of a bygone time then this year. Expect people to be dressed to some extent in a way that harkens back to the 1920’s. Now that is something special. For those not planning to step foot on NYC soil this year, there will still be evidence of the film and books power across the world. Think dapper hats, drop waist dresses, and a touch of romance all around.
