Thank you all for your words of wisdom and encouragement after my confession that running and I are on a break !
Things haven't really changed. The ankle is still hurting and I've now had a no-running streak that's lasted eight days. EIGHT DAYS!
I've booked an appointment for tomorrow morning, so watch this space (although I have the feeling I'll be told to rest even more and I'm not sure how I'll react to that revelation). Incidentally, I've been wondering whether or not a good dose of Vitamin I (Ibuprofen) would do the trick or at least aid my recovery. But as I usually shy away from self-medication unless absolutely necessary, I haven't taken any yet. Yesterday, however, while stopping for lunch at a small and quirky cafe in Brighton, we sat at an old school desk and look what we found upon opening the drawer:
'Don't be worried about taking a painkiller or two!'
Do you think that's the universe sending me a sign?! Watch this space for the 'official' opinion on my ankle... Do you medicate when you have running- (or other sports) related niggles?
