Braedon and I woke up early this morning (his choice, not mine). I was amazed by how warm it was while we were on the porch feeding the “outside” cats shortly after sunrise. Spring is really here. Braedon, Joe Louis, and I decided to go for a run so that my wife and Brenden could enjoy the rest of their sleep in relative peace and quiet. The only problem with that is there is no peace and quiet involved in getting Braedon and Joe ready to run. From the dilemma of picking out the right clothes for a wishy-washy three-year-old, to the dog noisily running up and down the stairs in anticipation of going somewhere on a leash, I’m guessing that our neighbors were also aware of this morning’s pre-run ritual. Once we left, though, we had a grand time. We started out off road, running through the field, still soggy from this week’s abundant rainfall, to the library to return some books. If Joe Louis would ever sit still longer than half a second, I could get a nice picture of the three of us. After returning the books, we ran a couple miles through town. My wife and Brenden were probably just falling back to sleep after our noisy departure when Braedon announced our arrival by ringing the doorbell, triggering Joe to howl. Needless to say, sleeping time was over at our house. Later in the morning, we all went to the park in Aberdeen for the Earth Day festival. Brenden spent the entire time eating and sleeping, while Braedon enjoyed the children’s activities. |
