The 5 Most Common Running Injuries:
- Achilles tendonitis
- Chondromalacia - Runner's Knee
- Iliotibial band (ITB) syndrome
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Shinsplints
Jessica's Most Common Running Injury:
- Chest Strain
Somehow I did it again. The only injury I have had twice in my short running career happens to be one that almost nobody gets while running. It's not like I fell and cushioned the landing with my chest. It's not like I stopped at the top of Stairsteps trail and worked myself over on the chest press machine. Seriously. What do I do so this doesn't happen again? I looked up some chest stretches. I guess I need to start doing them on any of my runs over 20 miles to be safe.
The crappy part (besides the pain)? I can't run or bike for a week. It's good I got in my long run. 17 days to Lake Tahoe. Not too much I can do now but rest, enjoy ingesting my prescribed "controlled substance", and recover and kick some butt on July 19th.
Happy Running & Dirty Feet,
Jessica
