The 100K Course for Twin Peaks 2009 will be one of the HARDEST 100K races in the country. Arguably, Coyote Two Moon is the only tougher 100K race. The TP 100K will boast 15,000 of elevation GAIN! At only $75 it's a bargain at $1.20 per mile or $1 per 200 feet of elevation gain :)
All races will have staggered start times in 2009. These times will be based on previous ultra finishing times. For the 100K, a previous ultra completion will be a requirement for entry because of the difficultly of this course.
Runners will start in waves from slowest (starting earlier) to fastest (starting late). For the 100K these times will be 3AM, 4AM & 5AM. For the 50M the times will be 4AM, 5AM & 6AM. The 50K will have start times of 6AM and 7AM. The 100K will have a cutoff time of 10PM (allowing the first wave of slower runners a full 19 hours to finish). The 50 Mile cutoff time will also be 10PM and the 50K will follow the same cutoff times giving everyone a change to finish the 50K distance (unless you try to crawl it :)
There will be some other changes and fun surprises for this race. You won't want to miss out! :)
