It’s official, I signed up for the Spartan Race in Gulfport, Mississippi in October! I am super excited about this race. Chris, my hubby recently put me on race restriction (sad face). We are trying to save money and lets face it running races isn't cheap, especially obstacle course races.
Last week one of my fellow Girls Gone Sporty Ambassadors, Sole Sister On The Run , had a Spartan Race Giveaway. I have been contemplating the race in Mississippi lately, even asked my parents for race entry as a birthday present. So I decided to sign up for her give away and I won the free entry to any Spartan Race in the USA! How awesome is that, I mean I never win anything, plus now I get to ask for something else for my birthday!
The race in Mississippi is a Spartan Sprint, which means I will have to run 3.1 miles with around 20 obstacles for time. Spartan’s obstacle course race is designed to test your resilience, strength, stamina, quick decision making skills, and ability to laugh in the face of adversity, all while trying to beat a clock. OMG I am soooo excited! Hopefully I will be able to recruit some friends to join me.
Now it’s time to train! Here is the first workout I came up with…
Give this workout a try! I used 15 pound dumbbells. It’s sure to get your heart rate up and your entire body shaking! Looking forward to mastering burpees in the near future!
