Since we started this blog and the Runners’ Lounge community site, Amy and I have enjoyed wonderful conversations about running. We’ve loved every minute of it and formed great friendships. It’s been nothing short of Wow!
To express our appreciation for the great chatter and the unique runners we’ve met, we wanted to do something special. So we went to our war room—the employees’ cafeteria—to generate ideas, and we came up with a gift for each of you. Time.
We are pleased to announce that Runners' Lounge is now the official sponsor of Daylight Savings Time. That’s right, we’ve arranged with the atomic clock scientists to own all the rights and responsibilities associated with giving you an extra hour of sleep — or however you choose — this weekend.
However, unlike these times when companies stamp their names on everything from ball parks to NASCAR and marathons races, Runners’ Lounge is different. With our sponsorship you do not need to say “Runners’ Lounge” before uttering the words “Daylight Savings Time.” Just enjoy the extra hour of time any way you wish. If you care to, you can just whisper “Thank you Runners’ Lounge” to yourself.
Good luck to those running the ING New York City Marathon this weekend! (see how those corporate sponsorships are everywhere.) We’re excited for you, Mike,Teri,Laminator, and all those we know are running. May you enjoy the race and achieve your goals.
Enjoy your extra hour of discretionary time this weekend brought to you by you know who...
