I feel like that's the tile of my blog lately. Very little running. Lots of softball. I did try to run last week on Thursday. I put in 3 miles but my back felt a bit sore after so I got paranoid. Sore is not as bad as pain though. I was worried about re-injuring myself and not being able to play over the weekend so no running. I made it through the crazy weekend unscathed so it's time to lace up the running shoes again, maybe tomorrow.
This past weekend I went to practice for about an hour and a half on Saturday and it was super nice outside. 70 and sunny! We had about the same weather for our games on Sunday and I was enjoying the sunshine for sure! Our team didn't do so well with no wins again yesterday in two games. I was 0-2 and 1-1 (with a walk) in the two games with the only run scored in our second game that included a "trip and slide" at home. Yea it was real graceful. Our bats were just not moving and we only scored 3 runs in 2 games. You don't win softball games that way!
Sunday night at 630PM I went to a tryout for an A/B division team in the other league to pick up some more playing time. The tryout went well though my hitting could have been more consistent. After the tryout, two of us three girls who were there were asked to go play a game at 9PM to see how we do in a game situation. Let me tell you - playing A division softball on a co-ed team is ENTIRELY different than C/D division on a female team. Wow! It was quote fun though and in my one time at the plate I was walked in 4 straight pitched, advanced to second, then was forced out on my way to third. Bummer. We were out hit again and outscored by 10 runs, ending the game after 5 innings. I was wiped!
Not sure if I made the other team (or which team). The coach has a women's team and coed team (and men's team). I'm sure I'll know in the next day or two.
Happy Running (and hitting) and dirty feet, Jessica
