Do you land on your toes? Normally, runners land on their heel or mid foot. Sprinters, though, land on their toes, and that can cause problems with distance runners. Do a google on the word metatarsal and read about pain in your toes. Do exercises, such as picking up towels, pencils, marbles, with your toes to strengthen your metatarsals. Avoid running on hard surfaces and a lot of hills.
