Running to Me: Holiday Gift Guide, Running In A Winter Wonderland
Posted Dec 03 2012 8:05am
It’s early December and here’s to hoping you aren’t already sick of holiday gift guides! I promise this one is decent. Shopping for some folks is hard but hopefully I can give you some good gift recs for the active person in your life – or maybe give you ideas to tell Santa.
– Wear the shorts once and you’ll see that the “yoga” company appreciates runners. The tops are lightweight form fitting; a friendly reminder to keep in shape. Trust me, you’ll find something from Lulu you’ll love.
Word Lock - B-r-i-l-l-i-a-n-t.Because remembering my dad’s-brother’s-mom’s birthday combination can be tough to do at 5 am.
Water Bottle - Take a look at the one you have now (under the lid). Probably needs replacing. Camelbak has always been a solid go-to for bottles.
Gym Bag - I love my old Nike duffle I beat around, but if someone would upgrade me I wouldn’t complain. A functional and good-looking gym bag is something more of us should spoil ourselves on but probably don’t. Puma Training Sports Bag is a good unisex option. Shoes go in the bottom zip pocket, gear in one of the two side zip pockets. Plenty of pouches on the inside.
Books – Inspiration comes in all forms, including paper and hardback. Depending on what you fancy anything from Scott Jurek: Eat and Run, chock full of incredible stories of endurance and competition, as well as fascinating science and accessible practical advice; or Lance Armstrong: It’s Not About The Bike: My Journey Back to Life , more about his struggle with cancer (easy there, to those that dislike him) his inspirational battle against the odds, charting his progress through triumph, tragedy and transformation.
Sweat-Activated T-Shirt:ViewSPORT sweat-activated technology reveals motivational messages when you sweat. It’s like those awesome hyper-color t-shirts we had as kids!
Running for Two – For Two Fitness is a premier maternity fitness apparel brand. Obviously this one is sentimental to me, but if you know anyone who is expecting they will adore you for thinking of something like this. And because it’s the season of giving – use LIVE4RUN now thru Jan 1 for 20% off your purchase!
Spa or Pedicure – A gift certificate to the spa is just what backs and tootsies need mid running season.
The compression socks are hung by the chimney with care. If you are still not in the holiday spirit, get on over to Runner’s World for more gift ideas under $25 . What’s tops on your holiday wish list, or holiday shopping list?
