Chaz is jazzed to run 100 miles

No, I'm not going to run it -- my The Run Down compadre, friend and all-around great guy, Charlie Nickell, is going to, for his first 100-miler. The race, in both Sacramento and Placer counties, is Sept. 27-28.

Chaz was looking for a great crew leader and some pacers, so God-knows-how he ended up with a group he has dubbed "Team Hair Care." That would be the lovely and talented Keira Henninger, the sorta cute and very manly Kirk Fortini, and the very sketchy moi. Perhaps my pacer and kids will join me for what promises to be a Pantene-filled weekend. Heck, all three of them have great hair, too!

Charlie provided awesome support for me and countless others at the San Diego 100, and is one of the ultra-running community's top ambassadors. Keira, Kirk and I all have completed 100-milers, so we are well-qualified to totally screw Charlie up on the big weekend at the beginning of fall.

This is going to be a blast. Perhaps, if Charlie meets his goal, all three of us will agree to shave our heads and donate our hair to the "Please Sinead O'Connor, For Crying Out Loud and for the Love of Ireland, Release Another Decent Album" fund. Just a thought...Meanwhile, does anyone have a decent hair-stylist they can recommend?
