I know this race recap is super late but I figure better late than never I always write my recaps right after a race and then sometimes forget that they are still sitting in the drafts section. With my move to self hosted this one snuck away. Hope you enjoy
As race morning drew closer I couldn’t believe it was almost time for R’n'R San Jose again. It truly didn’t feel like it had already been a year since I ran my 2nd half marathon ever. This year was even more exciting for me because it was a friend/clients first half marathon. I know the anticipation that a race of this size has. She definitely had been training enough and I knew we were both going to rock it!!
The weather was gorgeous, actually almost a little too warm for my liking. If I am cold at the start then I consider it the perfect weather to race. There was this great excitement in the air and we couldn’t wait to start. As always the bands were rocking and kept me motivated. If there was me negative thing about the bands I would have to say the one at the half way point was a little down. It’s only mile 6/7 and you are playing slow and depressing music. Come on guys I need something upbeat with some motivation behind it!! I loved the cool brooks blow up arch with the rocker guy!!
I loved all the cheerleaders out there. They were all so happy and seemed to be super happy cheering us all on. Aren’t they adorable?!?!
A big thank you to all the awesome volunteers!! Everyone was so happy and smiled at you. It was really nice to see them taking time from their weekend to make sure we were hydrated and gu filled. Oh and the medal is beyond awesome!!
I will definitely be running again next year, for the 3rd year in a row. I was proud to be there representing my awesome Team Marathon Bars!! I am also definitely running the inaugural San Francisco Rock’n'Roll Half Marathon next April. Can you say hello heavy medal for doing 2 races in one year?!?! Are you running a Rock’n'Roll race next year? What has been your favorite location?
