I did it. I PRd the race from last year! I was aiming for 32:00 and ended with a 34:29 (Official) 34:17 (Garmin). It was hot...high 80s-low 90s at 7:15pm last night in Boston. The weather could have been a lot worse. There were severe thunderstorms and even Tornado warnings which is VERY VERY unlikely for the Northeast as you probably know. It ended up raining before we left but cleared by the time we got to the common.
12,000 runners from the corporate world lined up to riase money for a childrens camp. That is a huge race for only 3.5 miles. Ill admit I lined up with the 6 minute milers just to get to the front and avoid the congestion. The past 2 years it has been awful stop and go. Last night everything felt great except the heat really got me.
Still considering I run 10:30-10:40s usually I am pleased with my times even though I was hoping for faster. I think that if it was in the 70s I definitely would have made it and there is always next year!!
I am off to the Cape this weekend to see my Mom, friends, go to a Bridal Shower and show my new beau around where I grew up!
