With my last big race over for the year I just have one more big goal and that is running over a 1000 miles. With 4 miles today I have a 185 more miles to go.
I just did an easy 4 mile recover run after Saturday's half marathon. It felt good to loosen the legs up. They were a little stiff after not running for two weeks and then jumping right into a half marathon. My legs are nice and warm telling me you pushed me but I'm feeling OK. I still have a bit of a cold, but that is slowly getting better each day. I also hope now that I'm feeling better I can get back into the swing of running. Also with no race pressure just mile pressure I can finish off this year by completing a 1000 miles and shift focus to next years goals which I'm already working on. You have to have a plan.
I'm going to try and find some time to do an overview of my racing year this week now that all the big races are done.
Tip: Keep an extra pair of running shoes in your car. That way in case you forget your other pair you have a spare and you don't waste a running opportunity. That saved my butt today.
