Progression Run + Things I’m Loving

Do you ever have those runs where your legs really want to go?

I miss them in marathon training… they are much fewer and farther between these days, as my legs are always recovering from the last workout.

But Tuesday morning, I had one of those runs.  I was subbing a morning spin class 4 miles away and had a 8 mile training run planned, with a few tempo miles.  I decided to run the four miles to the gym, teach, and run back.

My warm up mile is almost always in the 8:30-8:45 range.  This time, my first mile came in at 7:45 and I realized my legs were fresh and happy and ready to run.

I picked up the pace for mile 2 (7:18) and decided this would make a good progression run instead… a little more for mile 3  (6:55), and a final push for mile 4 (6:30).  I have no idea where that last mile came from, but it felt so good to push myself.

Spin class was great, and then I headed home for an easier 4 miles: 9:00, 7:57, 7:18, and 7:30.

I love a good run!  Here are some other things I am loving this week:

What I’m eating:

After admiring the make-your-own option on a friend’s site, Klara (owner of MixMyOwn ) asked if I’d like to make my own muesli mix.  Yes, please! I put oats, quinoa, millet, dried apples and blueberries, goji berries, walnuts, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, matcha green tea and cacao nibs in mine.

What I’m wearing:

Swirlgear is a relatively new company, by women and for women.  I love the yellow, and the fit is perfect!

What I’m drinking:

My iced green tea making has slowed down but I picked it up again yesterday.  I’ve been really happy with Organic India Tea- high quality and great flavor.

What I’m reading:

I wish I had more time to read! There are endless numbers of books I hope to get to in the next few months, especially as I continue to expand my knowledge of natural health and healing.  These are the two I’m diving into right now.

What I’m baking with:

I’ve been doing more online shopping since we moved, and these arrived this week.  Apparently I was craving fat when I placed the order?!

I added the cacao bliss to some brownies I made this week… yum! (Side note- I got these from Swanson which I’ve found has really good prices and lots of high quality options!)
